The Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir has LANDRed on Rdio

Bob Weir, founding member of The Grateful Dead, is fighting to make music on the internet sound better, and LANDR is helping. 

Over the past several months, we’ve been testing a new high quality output option in cooperation with Bob’s TRI Studios, to master an impressive cache of his back catalogue. Today, Rdio has announced that these tracks are now streaming in 320kpbs AAC on Bob’s very own Rdio channel.

All of this is part of the ”Musicians for Audio Quality Initiative” first announced last April. Rdio has now upgraded streams to AAC for no additional charge to their subscribers. TRI Studios will head up the massive project converting Rdio’s 30 million tracks from MP3 to AAC.

The high-res, LANDR mastered material the Rdio channel includes unreleased songs from Bob Weir’s band Ratdog, live solo material recorded at TRI Studios, as well as live performances from Sweetwater Music Hall.
